I am away from my computer, I will be visiting your posts and commenting as soon as possible. Thank you for participating and for all your comments.

These are photos from our visit to Conowingo Dam and the Susquehanna River. We saw lots of Bald Eagles, Vultures and great view of the Great Blue Heron rookery.

1. The Bald Eagles both adults and juveniles were all around the dam area and river. Some were standing on rocks along the river, in the trees and perched on the dam sign.

2. On the photo below there are two juvenile Bald Eagles with one adult Eagle.

3. How many Bald Eagles can you find in the tree below? I found 8 eagles.

4. This Bald Eagle found something to stare at, a possible meal?

5. The warning sign at the end of the island. There were 2 juvenile Eagles with one adult.

6. The Black Vultures are plentiful at Conowingo. There are warning signs about these vultures eating the rubber off of car windows that are parked in the lot.

7. At Conowingo I think the Black Vultures outnumber the Turkey Vultures.  They hang out in big groups in the trees and on the ground.

8.  Here is a Turkey Vulture showing off it's wing span.

9. The Great Blue Heron rookery is on a small island in the middle of the Susquehanna River just a short distance from the Conowingo Dam. It is great to see so many Heron nests, they are doing well.

10. I always enjoy seeing the Great Blue Herons, they have a nice rookery at Conowingo.

11. It is amazing to see how many herons there are, on or around the tiny nest.

This is a mish-mash of photos from various days and walks to the lake, on the fire road, a few of my yard birds and a visit with our son's family.

1. Our walk to the lake, it was a warm day.  It was nice to see the turtles out sunny themselves on a log.

2. A larger look at the Slider Turtles, they are always fun to see.

3. During our walks to the lake, we have seen the Canada Geese hanging in this same spot multiple times.

4. The Downy Woodpecker is a daily visitor to my yard, it also enjoys the suet nuggets.

5. The White-throated Sparrow is a winter bird that enjoys the suet nuggets I put out for my yard birds.  One day I saw a female Pine Warbler grabbing a few nuggets, I was sorry I missed getting a photo.

6. We saw the Brown Creeper during one of our walks on the local fire road.

7. One day we had lunch with our son and his family and enjoyed watching our grandsons playing on their new playset. The Grand-dogs enjoyed being out in the yard with us all.

8. A puzzle I completed in early March, the undersea life, the colorful fish are so pretty.

It's the first Saturday in April and time is just flying by. I am still behind sharing photos, these are from our getaway to the Maryland shore back in Feb 8-10 2024. Now I am hoping to see our Spring-Summer birds return to my yard and neighborhood.

1. Mosaic is mainly showing the Tundra Swans, a native swan in Maryland. They are seen in the winter months.

2. In the photo below, there the Tundra Swans, Canada Geese, a few Northern Pintails and a few other ducks across the pond.

3.  The wildlife refuge has always some Bald Eagles, either flying around or perched in a tree.

4.  A male and female Northern Shoveler.

5. Below are a group of Northern Pintails.

6. The Tundra Swan flock was flying in to land on the pond.

7. We saw a few Great Blue Herons around the wildlife drive and refuge.

8. Leaving Bombay Hook NWR we drove past a field with a huge group of Snow Geese.  I was able pull over on the side of the road to take a few photos.

9. A closer look at the Snow Geese in the field.

10. Another puzzle finished, one of my favorites with the polar bear and northern lights.

Extra photo: Easter with the grandson and family.
